  The Griffin is located on the outskirts of Reading in the suburb of Caversham. With the River Thames flowing behind the pub if you are on a cruise down the river you can moor up, walk over Caversham Bridge and call in to enjoy some great food or quench your thirst! There has been a pub on the site since the 1800s and it was rebuilt in 1916. In those days eels were a speciality fished in the river and brought to be sold in the pub.

  Today welcoming open log fires will greet you in the winter and during the summer you can enjoy a drink or meal outside on our heated patio.

  As a Chef and Brewer pub restaurant we serve freshly cooked, great value pub meals and drinks and our daily changing food specials are created with skill and flair by our chefs. Across the week we feature special food nights, including curry, vegetarian and fish nights. Don't miss out on our fabulous Sunday roast and bring all the family with you. We offer a childrens menu in addition to our main menu.
